Olympic Telescope 2020 Schedule
Telescope Programs at Hurricane Ridge:
Tentative schedule subject to approval
Dress warmly -- It can be cold at 5242 feet (1598 meters).
June 20 through June 23 beginning at 11:00 pm
July 8 through July 16 at 11:00 pm
July 17 through July 25 beginning at 10:45 pm
August 7 through August 12 beginning at 10:15 pm
August 13 and August 18 beginning at 10:00 pm
August 19 through August 22 beginning at 9:45 pm
September 11 and September 12 beginning at 9:00 pm
Note: The Olympic Astronomical Society will be having their 22nd Annual OAS Hurricane Ridge Star Parties on June 29th, August 3rd, and August 31st, weather permitting. There will be more telescopes on the ridge, and most OAS members will be happy to have the public look through their telescopes!
Full Moon Hike to Hurricane Hill:
A 3 mile round trip hike. Meet at the Hurricane Hill trailhead.
The trailhead is a 1.5 mile drive beyond the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center.
Please wear sturdy shoes. A constellation tour will occur at the top of Hurricane Hill.
The full moon hikes for 2020 depend on the status of trail construction. The hikes may be cancelled. If they occur, the hikes are on Sunday August 2 and Monday August 3 at 8:45 pm, and Tuesday September 1 at 8:00 pm.
