2026 Dark Sky Telescope Programs at Hurricane Ridge:​​

Dress warmly -- It can be cold outdoors at 5242 feet (1598 meters).

If possible, please be on time for the introduction.

Allow 45 minutes to drive the 18 mile road to the ridge.

Sunday July 5 through Sunday July 19 - 11:00 pm

Tuesday August 4 through Tuesday August 11 - 10:15 pm

Wednesday August 12 through Tuesday August 18 - 10:00 pm

Wednesday September 2 through Friday September 4 - 9:15 pm

2026 Full Moon Hikes to Hurricane Hill:

A 3 mile round trip hike.  Meet at the Hurricane Hill trailhead.

The trailhead is a 1.5 mile drive beyond the Hurricane Ridge parking lot.

Please wear sturdy shoes.  A constellation tour will occur at the top of Hurricane Hill.

Sunday/Monday  June 28/29 - both begin at 9:30 pm

Tuesday/Wednesday July 28/29 - both begin at 9:00 pm

Thu-Fri-Sat August 27/28/29 - begins at 8:00 pm ​partial eclipse Thursday

2026 It's Your Moon! - Telescope Programs

We will use telescopes to look closely at a 10 or 11 day old gibbous moon.  We will

share moon legends, fun facts, and observe features such as seas, craters and mountains.

Wednesday/Thursday June24/25 - both at 9:30 pm

Friday/Saturday July 24/25 - both at 9:15 pm

Saturday/Sunday August 22/23 - both at 8:30 pm
